Question by strangeuniverse: Music Documentary? Help Please!? I once saw an educational documentary about the rudiments of music. It was most likely on the BBC but it could have been Channel 4. The episode I saw was about rhythm but I have a feeling that this was a part of a series that covered every aspect of music. I remember a lot if it. I remember blocks of decreasing sizes being used to explain notes of different lengths, a section on tribal African cross rhythms, and a section on swing and syncopation in jazz. This documentary would be very useful for me if I could get my hands on it. I do not have BBC iPlayer as I live in the Republic of Ireland and I could not find it on 4od. If anybody knows where I can look at these documentaries I would be very grateful. Or if anybody has any episodes of it can they please put them up on youtube. Thanks. I was in a shop today and the background music was rock and roll,the one song in particular was sung by a man and it was very jivvy,but the only words that i could pick up was that it went “Baby,baby,baby,baby” then it went to “Gimme gimme,gimme gimme”. I know its a long shot as i have nothing really to go on,but if there are any jivers out there that might know who this could be then i’d love to know.
